RE: Texas snowbirds! Lets hear from you..Where/why

I spent two winters in Harlingen,TX and we were referred to, by the locals, as Winter Texans, not Snowbirds I thought that was just downright friendly of them.

RE: Gouldings or Cadillac Ranch in Utah?

Stayed at Cadillac Ranch in June. Big gravel lot with about 14 FHU spaces. Clean and friendly management. View of the Bluffs from every site.

RE: Calif Hwy1 to 101

Have traveled 20 from Ft. Bragg to Willits about 10 times, each way, with a 22' class C w/toad and a 34' class A w/ toad. No problem. Just plan on taking about an hour.

RE: Leak in Black Pipe from Grey Tank

Go to WalMart or your favorite HW store and get some Goop for motorhomes/rvs. Will do a fine job. Have used it on sewer hoses and sewer fittings.

RE: Any full timers in Brookings, Oregon?

Spent 5 summers at Driftwood RV Park in Brookings 02 to 06. Loved the place. For the most part, on the beach, in the summer, expect foggy conditions most of the days. Many days there is afternoon clearing. End of August and September it is usually very nice. If you go inland a ways, as up the Chetco River, you will have quite a few sunny days as compared to the coast. Have not been there in the Winter but understand it is cold, wet & windy with occasional snow. Brookings is a retirement community and I always found the folks to be quite friendly. One tax advantage is: No sales tax in Oregon. Hope this helps.

RE: What Pressure Do You Set Your Regulator At

I was using a 40# fixed regulator and had lousy pressure. Took out the whole coach water filter and had good pressure but bad tasting water. Put on an adjustable regulator and had to increase pressure to 58# to get decent pressure & good water in the MH. So my answer would be, "depends on the pressure inside as to how to set your regulator). I am leary of going over 60# as we are in Northern AZ and the heat on the hoses increases the pressure. Don't really know what the pressure is inside.

RE: TX Registration Fees

Purchased my Dolphin in Dec. 99. Registered and relicensed every year thereafter and when I finally went to TX in 07 I got it inspected. No problem the whole time. The inspection was a joke. Checked headlights and horn. That was it. $14.00 please.

RE: volunteer workcamping at national parks??????

Currently volunteering as a visitor center host. My SO & I work a total of 34 hours per week for a very nice site with full hookups and WiFi is available. Educational and most of the time is a lot of fun. Well treated by all of the staff.

RE: Low water pressure at kitchen sink

Dogbone, Where is that pressure equalizer located in the faucet? I have good pressure in the bath, but not in the kitchen and my screen is clean.

Also recommend Traveler's World. Clean Park, nice staff and convenient to downtown. Also Walmart and HEB.

RE: Fridge not cold

Have a 2008 Pace Arrow, not near it right now,so can't give you fridge model #. Had a similar problem last week. Freezer ok, fridge not. The baffle on the left side door was not moving into position when door closed, so that right hand door had nothing to seal against. Cleaned the baffle track and lubed with silicone. Ok now. This may be clear as mud, but the best I can do.

RE: Power loss mystery.

This problem happens immediately after turning on the furnace or the lights. The battery is showing a full charge.

Power loss mystery.

Can use either furnace OR lights when plugged. If I use both, then the furnace motor slows down, lights dim and then, after a "clunk" sound near the furnace, the furnace motor stops and the light brightens. On battery power, if I use the furnace OR the lights, either the furnace motor slows down or the lights dim and then, after a 'clunk" sound near the furnace, all DC power is lost. It can be restored by connecting to shore power. Does anyone have any ideas about this problem. Going to the dealer's tomorrow. Would like to know ahead of time if anyone else has had this experience. 2008 Pace Arrow Class A

RE: Dinosaur Natl Mon Green river cmpg

What little I know is: Water available, no electric, no sewer. Was going to go there in Sept. and was told by the ranger that there are some sites large enough for a 36' MH. Only fills up on Holiday weekends. Not much info but it is all I have.

RE: Are RV Parks in AZ raising rates?

I have limited experience in Yuma, but a lot of parks raise their rates in Feb. as they are applied to those making reservations for the coming Fall season. This applies to seasonal rates, not necessarily short term.I guess after reading this I really have no idea.
